Guy Time

One of the best things in life is a thing i call guy time! This is a time when i can do something manly and it can only be enhanced if i am joined by other men. What am i talking about?

The daily hum-drum of life is not what God had in mind when He created men. We were not meant to sit quietly in an office all day, trying to stay clean so we can come home and take care of household chores. In my opinion (and if you don't agree, you don't have to continue reading MY blog - i mean, these are MY thoughts), guys are designed to be outdoors, being adventurous , getting dirty, competing for a something (anything), making stuff with their hands, leading others and providing for their families.

Don't get me wrong, i am not looking for a job that makes me be outside everyday getting nasty and sweaty. If i wanted to do that i could quit today and go work for my dad. Sometimes guys just need a little adventure and a chance to get away from the daily grind. One of the best times to do this is every winter when the Forrest Boys go deer hunting. We escape to some remote region of TX where we spend several days in the woods, stalking animals with high-powered artillery and hanging out with other men.

I think about this today as Michele is in Austin and i am solely responsible for the care of Cade. I think about this because i long for the day that i get to introduce Cade to Guy Time. We may begin tonight by dressing in camo and going to the Academy. If you don't think that is adventurous or that we might "get dirty" you apparently have never taken a 4 month old to any public place. If that doesn't do the trick, we may get some pizza and watch the football game on TV. Either way, tonight will be at least an elementary form of Guy Time!
